Daytona Beach Information

Parents and athletes,

                For this year’s team away trip, and since last year went really well, we’re going to Daytona Beach again!  This race is on Saturday, August 26th.  Please review the information below to get an idea about this trip.  Just like last year, I’ll be in constant communication with hotels, charters, and you to ensure this trip goes smoothly.

-          We would be away from school for all/part of Thursday and definitely all of Friday 8/24-25. 

-          The plan would be to stay overnight Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and come back on Sunday (8/27).

-          We would travel by charter bus

-          We would arrive in Daytona Thursday evening and eat dinner as a team.  We would go to the beach Friday morning and preview the course on Friday afternoon (when it opens).  We would race Saturday AM and head back to the hotel/beach/water park/etc.  We would depart Sunday AM to head back to Parkview

-          COST:  $350 per athlete

o    Helps to cover travel, hotel expenses, resort fees, some food, water park, etc.

o    ***Since we need to begin the booking process and make a down payment, we will need a $50 commitment by Monday, July 24th.  The remaining money can be turned in prior to the trip (see below).

-          Deadline to declare:  Monday, July 24th.  This guarantees the best hotel rate.

-          We haven’t yet nailed down a car wash date and are in the process of finalizing our fundraiser with Butter Braid.  Both of those could open up opportunities to alleviate cost both for this trip and for cross country registration.

-          This trip is open to EVERYONE so long as the $350 is paid in full before we leave and the $50 deposit is paid by Monday, July 24th!
